The Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed on Friday night (Oct. 26) at the Arcadia Invitational. Both teams performed incredibly well. The Boys Team is witnessing the resurgence of two of the runners who had previously been out on injury. The team is looking to hit their peak stride in the next two weeks, just in time for CIF competition. The Boys Varsity Team took third at the the Arcadia Invitational, finishing with 131 points.
The Girls Cross Country Team also boasted a stellar performance. Things are coming together for the Bears late in the season. Nadine Gomez broke 18 minutes for the 3-mile course. Gomez was followed closely by Alicia Liera at 18:07. The Bears had two more runners come in under 19 (Valeria Guerra–18:46 and Arianna Cervantes–18:54). The top five scoring runners were rounded out by Bryanna Garcia at 19:18. Brianna Cruz (19:31) and Leeann Gonzalez (19:35) completed the 7 Varsity runners for the Bears. The Girls Varsity Team also finished third at the invitational.
